Something in the Water...

Welcome back to "Indulging Synn" friends and foes. For those of you thinking, "But wait, it's not Friday!" I have some good news for you! From now on, "Indulging Synn" will be brought to you bi-weekly! I'll be recapping Saturday Night Anarchy on Mondays with a preview of Wednesday Night WarZone, and then recapping WarZone with a preview of Anarchy on Fridays. Sound good? Well wait until you hear about what happened on Anarchy this past weekend!

What a show! We came into Anarchy knowing that we were going to get a pretty hotly contested match for the Tornado Tag Team Championships, but little did we know that we'd be getting an Undisputed Championship match as well! Without hesitation, let's get to the results.

As mentioned in last Friday's "Indulging Synn," the GWO were fired this past week, leaving the two Anarchy Cup qualifying matches as one-on-one encounters and leaving Matthew Wellington without an opponent for his match, notching the new wrestler his first win, even if it was by forfeit. Take 'em when you can get 'em, kid, that's what I've always said...

Our first match of the night seemed like a breeze for Shark Boy over the rookie, Rhett Wildman. All it took was one Deep Sea Stunner and a few "Sharkweisers" later Max Turner was wondering why he hadn't booked Shark Boy a little deeper into the show. Maybe next week?

Does Slapnutz still work here? If he does, he's going to have to do some serious legwork to get out of Max Turner's doghouse after that pitiful showing on Anarchy this week. Bronko Allen tore through him like a man on a mission, especially after his disappointing showing in the Bronx Championship battle royal last week. It remains to be seen if the "I'm-not-Sting" superstar will be shown the door, but I know for a fact that Turner won't hesitate to drop slackers.

Well we were supposed to finally get to see Dante West and Giovanni Valentino go at it this week, but let's be honest, who actually expected that to happen. The two have been scheduled to fight more than a handful of times over the past two months, and they've yet to lock up. The crowd may have been disappointed in the no-show for a moment, but they couldn't have expected what happened next. Out from the curtains stepped the Japanese Seaman himself, reissuing his previous challenge from WarZone to let Dante have one last shot at the Undisputed Championship before his impending retirement after Superbrawl II. After a little sweet-talking, the match finally took place at the end of the show. Both men put everything they had into the bout for the people of Anarchy and those watching around the world, and I do believe that both were pretty surprised when the bell rang and the time limit had expired. One handshake later you had a pretty special moment for the fans of the XHW. If only we got a championship match every time somebody no-showed!

Perhaps there's something in the water over there in the Bronx, because it seems like everyone and their brother are attacking people before the match is over! Maverick Harley finally gets himself an opponent that's willing to fight in Johnny Blade and the match ends with Whitesnake hopping the guardrail and attacking his nemesis? It seems that Snake just doesn't know when to quit, but at least he's got that determination aspect of the game down. Pair that up with some experience and talent and you've got yourself a superstar that's well on his way.

But the drama didn't end there, folks. On his way up the ramp and back to his locker room, Mav Harley became the first victim of what became a series of attacks on Anarchy's finest when a mysterious hooded figure dropped him on his head with a death valley driver. The same figure also scratched up a car in the employee parking lot, jumped Rhett Wildman backstage with a baseball bat, and then came his most sickening moment. Just after Kurt Angle defeated newcomer Jimi Saint to qualify for the Anarchy Cup, the figure slipped over the guardrail and under the bottom rope, the same baseball bat in hand, and delivered a crushing blow to Saint's ankle. Not only will it be months before Saint walks on that leg again, but it also cost him his roster spot in the XHW later that next day. For those of you who haven't heard the news, the figure has been identified only as "BlkOut," a newly contracted member of Anarchy. For more info, check out George Daniel's "Book Report" or take a look at some recent footage of BlkOut backstage in the Stomping Grounds on XHW.com. Just sickening...

The night wouldn't have been complete without Dirk Diver deciding to offend someone, now would it? In the first installment of "A Mouth Full of Dirk," the hirsute superstar had Casey Dodge and O.D.B. as his guests. It didn't take long for both ladies to get riled up at Diver's comments, and, in my opinion, he was saved by the bell when he and Billy Coop had to go to their match against the Sheglins and Diego Cortez. The previous offenses by Diver ended up being what cost him the match as well when Cortez used his scorn as motivation, pinning Mr. Jingles to claim victory. Afterwards, the Sheglins and Dr. James And... excuse me, I mean DR. JAMES ANDREWS issued a challenge to the team that handed them their first loss in Dodge and O.D.B. for Superbrawl II weekend. From what I hear from the Book, that challenge is going to be turned down...

The feud between North Starr and Asylum has not only crossed over federations, it's beginning to cross a few lines as well. This Saturday, it took Starr, his bodyguard Cobra Commander, his manager Jacob Widmore, and Lucy Walker's sister Claire Logan to put Asylum through a little more hell. Starr had Asylum essentially restrained on top of a glass table as he plunged from on high with a Falling Starr, leaving his mortal enemy bloodied and unconscious. How much farther can this thing go?

Not only did Kurt Angle defeat Jimi Saint to go back to the Anarchy Cup finals, but Doc Hammer will be there against as well. Sans Matilda, Hammer outlasted Victor Mason for his slot, even though Mason had his foot under the bottom rope as the referee counted the three. Afterwards, the normally calm superstar took some pretty serious offense to what he thought was a sham and went so far as to hurl the ref from the ring. Could this be the beginnings of a darker side of Mason? I guess we'll have to wait and see...

After cameras caught Max Turner on the phone with what seems like an incognito call to... someone (the crew was kicked out as soon as ol' Maxie caught them there), the Anarchy General Manager filled us in on the Undisputed Women's Championship situation. It seems that the title will go vacant until Superbrawl II, where both Cordelia Murphy and Frankie Adams will battle it out one more time, but a little extra kink will be thrown in the mix as Grace Rourke has also purchased herself a number one contendership for the belt. Two triple-threat matches at Superbrawl II for Undisputed Championships? The more the merrier, I say. Let's let 'em all have a crack at it!

Is anyone going to keep Excessive Force down? We had another team take a shot at the champs this week, and yet another team to go down. The Dragongate was probably the strongest team to go up against Mike Hoss and Joe Riggs, yet the champions seemingly always find a way to win (well, except for that one time). They're already the best tag team in the federation without question, but we can we start putting them in the conversation for the greatest team... ever? Maybe it's time, but that debate's for another time...

In backstage news, the Dragongate clan continues to make enemies (namely Scott Walker and Johnny Sniper), Claire Logan has snagged herself another "business interest" (namely BlkOut), and it looks like we're going to have a one-on-one rematch of the final two from Full Throttle (namely Eddie Rourke and Johnny Diamond)! In my opinion, that last one could be an absolutely thrown-down brawl. Here's hoping Diamond gets served a heaping helping of humble pie.

We've already covered what's coming up on this week's Thursday edition of Wednesday Night WarZone, but here's a quick list of what's going down for those who missed it. It's a full slate of X-Core and Universal Divisional match-ups, so it could really shake up the standings after this week. This refreshing of your memory is brought to you by "The Refresher" energy drink. GET FRESH! (Damn I hate this corporate stuff...)

Alyx Gates vs. Scott Walker (X-Core Championship #1 Contender Match)

Rob Gunn vs. Dakota Burrows (Universal Divisional Match)

Aston Michaels vs. J.T. Cash (X-Core Divisional Match)

Eddie Rourke vs. Dante West (Universal Divisional Match)

Jimm Red vs. Mike Hoss (X-Core Divisional Match)

Turbine vs. Joe Riggs (non-title, Universal Divisional Match)

That's it for this update folks. As always, thanks for indulging me!
